Reservation & Booking Policies

DEAR TOURISTS:

Thank you very much for choosing us! Please read the following: The Peruvian system of services and products sometimes differs to that of their country of origi. We recommend that you carefully read the following:

TRAVEL IN PERU: Salkantay Expeditions, operates in regions where standards of accommodation, transport and services might not be normally expected. However we strive, with all the diligence and ability to provide the best services for our tourists. Travelling in Peru requires flexibility, patience, open-mindedness, good humor and understanding that changes may be made without notice due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure – see below). By booking any of our tours you agree with Salkantay Expeditions to make the necessary changes without due responsibility.

FORCE MAJEURE: it Is any case, that Salkantay Expeditions can not solve, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. This includes events like the revolts, civil wars, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, disasters or adverse weather conditions, or any other similar event beyond our control. In this case, Salkantay Expeditions will not accept responsibility and reserves the right to change, postpone or even cancel the trip (this is the last option, of course!)

Travel insurance is recommended that to get travel insurance that covers the risk of accidents, medical expenses and emergency repatriation, including rescue and air ambulance. We also recommend that relates to cancellations and lost luggage. Please forward a copy / policy number to our offices.

RISKS: By booking any of our adventure trips (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquequirao trek, etc.) the risks associated with them are assumed. Therefore Pacha Expeditions accepts no responsibility.

Sending your personal data for reservation: passport number must be valid, please let us know if you have or will change your passport after booking (Inca Trail authorities are not very nice when checking passports control at Km 82) .tarjeta student (if applicable) must also be valid at the time of starting their Inca trail.

MAKE A RESERVATION (deposit):

In order to secure a booking of a tour package, you must make a payment of: 50% of the total cost of the package, the balance will be paid upon arrival in Cusco at our offices. Adventure trips: U$.250 non-refundable deposit per person ($ 70 if you want the hiring of an additional carrier Inca Trail.) $.200 is the deposit to reserve alternatives such excursions as Lares, Salkantay, Ausangate Vilcabamba, Choquequirao, etc.)

DEPOSIT CAN BE DONE THROUGH:

01.- Western Union Money Transfer Company. The transfer will be made in the names of: Javier Mendoza Zarate ID Number 24007215 02.- Pay pal.

03.- Wire Transfer:

** All transaction fees are covered by the customer and is not included in the prices of our tours.

PAYMENT BALANCE:

We suggest you pay your final balance in our offices at least 48/24 hours before starting the journey or walk. Currently, we only accept cash, dollars or soles (rate of change 3.90 soles per US $ 1). We reserve the right to cancel his trip to the default in this period, if you have a delay contact the company by phone or E-mail.

CANCELLATIONS:
(1) sent to the reservation deposit is not refundable.
(2) Salkantay Expeditions: must be notified of any change or cancellation of your trip as soon as they become aware of them, through e-mail or fax.
(3) Once the final balance has been paid: We will not be able to refund your money if you cancel your trip. There is, however, part of your trip that you can use (Machu Picchu entrance fee, 1 train ticket, bus ticket 1)

VERY IMPORTANT: We recommend staying at high altitude (above 3000 meters – in Cusco or another high altitude city) for 3-4 days before the journey. This is in order to minimize the effects of possible altitude sickness. Also, you can help your body acclimatize by drinking plenty of fluids, adding a bit more sugar to your drinks, eating food rich in carbohydrates, avoiding alcohol and cigarettes and drink coca tea (ancient traditional leaf)
